City Life
Dubai is a melting pot of entertainment and culture. One of the most popular tourist attractions is the Dubai Parks and Resorts. This exotic place offers four major theme parks namely, Motiongate, Legoland Dubai, Legoland Water Park and Bollywood Parks. MG Worlds of Adventure and Wild Wadi Water Park are other popular adventure parks. Shopping is one of the main attractions in the UAE, especially in Dubai. Besides megalithic malls , souks (local markets) are an ideal place for shopping for all kinds of items. Gold Souk, But Dubai Souk and Spice Souk are worth visiting. If you are into music and entertainment performances, visit the classic Dubai Opera. For beautiful galleries you can explore Alserkal Avenue. Sharjah is a major hub of history and culture. It has garnered the title of Cultural Capital of the Arab World by UNESCO. The city is well known for its exquisite museums. Visit the Sharjah Heritage Area to explore museums and traditional souk areas. Al Qasba waterfront quarter is the city's top nighttime destination, with plenty of restaurants and cafes. The Central Souk, Souk Al Jubail, Souk Al Arsah, and Central Market (Blue Souk) are famous for shopping. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Its coastline is rimmed by amazing beaches. Besides sightseeing and soaking up the sun, there are a number of adventures you can try. At the World Trade Center Souk you can buy handicrafts from across the Arab world.
Historic/Architectural Heritage

The Burj Khalifa, a towering sky-high landmark of Dubai, is one of the UAE's most famous buildings. Being the world's tallest building it also houses the highest observation deck in the world. The panoramic views across Dubai are absolutely breathtaking. Dubai Fountain, world's tallest performing fountain, adds to the beauty of this place. Bastakia, also known as Al Fahidi, is the last remaining fragment of Old Dubai. The lanes of this small heritage neighborhood are lined with well-restored traditional buildings that display typical Arabian architecture. Mleiha Archeological Site, located in Sharjah is an ideal place to learn about the deep history of the Arabian Peninsula. This historic site is surrounded by orange sand dunes so you can also indulge in some interesting desert activities. Other fascinating places worth exploring are Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum House, Heritage House, Dubai Frame, Sharjah Fort, Dhayah Fort, Al-Jahili Fort, Qasr al Muwaiji, and Gili Archeological Park.


Louvre Abu Dhabi is one of the most famous museums in the country. It takes you on an insightful journey through the history of humankind. Along with the extensive collection, the ultra-modern architecture of the complex is in itself very intriguing. Sharjah Art Museum houses an exquisite collection of art by Arab artists and artworks from the Middle East. Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization is home to a fascinating collection that traces Islam's course from very early years to contemporary times. It also provides an insightful look into the vast diversity of art and culture throughout the Islamic world. Dubai Museum, housed in the Al-Fahidi Fort, is also a perfect place to visit if you are interested in the fascinating history of UAE. Other prominent museums in the UAE are Future Dubai, Heritage and Diving Village, Rare Books and Manuscripts Museum, Sharjah Archeology Museum, and Ras Al-Khaimah National Museum, among others.

Nature & Adventure
Jebel Jais, located in Ras Al-Khaimah, is the highest peak in the United Arab Emirates. It offers a prolific vista of the scenic Hajar Mountain peaks. For a memorable exploration, opt for the Jebel Jais Flight which is the world's longest zipline. Hiking is also a popular activity to do here. Desert Safari in the beautiful Liwa Oasis, which lies on the edge of the Empty Quarter and Al Khatim Desert are quite popular. The golden deserts stretch across the country's southern part. You can enjoy camel trekking, dune buggy trips, 4WD trips, sandboarding, overnight camping, wildlife spotting and much more on this vast wilderness. A brilliant way of enjoying Dubai's picturesque views is from one of the traditional Arbian boats called dhows. Floating on Dubai Creek at sunset and surrounded by sky-high twinkling edifices will make your trip a memorable one. The creek separates Dubai into two towns, with Diera to the north and Bur Dubai to the south. Abu Dhabi's Eastern Mangroves offer a bundle of kayaking tours for all levels of experience. To learn about the ecology of mangroves you can also opt for an Eco Tour. Other beautiful places are Sharjah National Park, Jebel Hafeet, Mubazzarah Park, Hajar Mountains, Hatta Lake, and Sharjah Desert Park.
The islands in UAE are epitome of beauty of man-made marvels. Palm Islands, located on the coast of Dubai, consists of three artificial islands, namely, Deira Island, Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali. The archipelago resembles a stylized palm tree within a circle. Yas Island is a melting pot of exhilarating activities. Ferrari World, Formula One at Marina Circuit, Warner Bros World, Waterworks are some of the major highlights of this island. Yas Beach is another popular spot to visit on the island. Sir Bani Yas Island is a wildlife reserve and hosts regular safaris where you can see over 13,000 animals including indigenous Arabian wildlife. Hiking, kayaking, horse-riding, and mountain biking are other activities you can enjoy. Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi is famous for its long strip of white sand. You can indulge in kayaking and windsurfing. Al Maya Island, Deira Islands, Al Maryah Island, Al Noor Island, and Al Montazah Island, among others are few more examples of beautiful man-made islands of the UAE.
Abu Dhabi and Dubai are top beach choices in the UAE. In Dubai, JBR Open Beach, Umm Suqeim Beach, Al Mamzar Beach Park, Black Palace Beach, Marina Beach, Dubai Creek, and Jebel Ali Beach are popular beach destinations. Kite Beach is a famous destination of Dubai for kitesurfing. You can also enjoy stand up paddleboarding. Beach resorts of Ras Al-Khaimah and Ajman are also quite popular. If you seek solitude, head to Al Aqah beach in the Emirate of Fujairah. Abu Dhabi's beaches are one of the city's main tourist attractions. Saadiyat Public Beach, Yas Beach, Radisson Blu Beach Club, Al Bateen Beach, Beach Rotana Club, and Corniche Beach are some of the famous beach destinations in Abu Dhabi.
Dubai Aquarium, located in Dubai Mall, is one of the city's top tourist attractions. It houses nearly 140 exotic species of sea life. You can enter the Underwater Zoo to walk through the aquarium tunnels. You can indulge in cage snorkeling, glass bottom boat tours and shark diving. Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary has mangrove forests and wetlands of Dubai creek. It's a prime spot to see flamingos in winter. Arabia Wildlife Center in Sharjah Desert Park houses Arabian leopards, Arabian oryx and endemic reptiles. Sir Bani Yas Island and Al Ain Zoo are also famous places for wildlife viewing in the UAE.
Places of Worship
Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a magnificent modern mosque of indescribable beauty. It is a divine blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design, creating a unique interpretation of Islamic architecture. Jumeirah Mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques of Dubai. It is an epitome of Islamic architecture. Its two minarets display fine details in the stonework. Al Noor Mosque in Sharjah displays classical Ottoman style architecture. It is the only mosque in the city open to non-Muslims.
How to spend time / how long will it take?

You can cover a major chunk of the UAE in 8 to 10 days. Spend two days in Dubai exploring its iconic landmarks and markets. Spend two days in Sharjah exploring its cultural sites. Spend a day in Ras Al-Khaimah before you move to Abu Dhabi. Spend two days exploring the prime attractions of the city. Spend a day or two at Yas Island to enjoy its adventure parks and beaches. Back to Abu Dhabi, take a day trip to Liwa Oasis to enjoy an exhilarating desert safari. Spend a day or two in Al Ain to explore the history of the region and also enjoy panoramic views of the city from the summit of Jebel Hafeet. 

  • Emirati cuisine is part of the Eastern Arabian cuisine. It draws influence from different Middle Eastern, Omani, Saudi Arabian and Asian cuisines. Some traditional Emirati foods are Baleelat, Chabab bread, Shakshuka, Hareeth, Samak Mashwi, Machboos, Lamb Ouzi and much more. You must also try the scrumptious Shawarma, Shish Tawook Sandwich, Fattoush and Thereed, among others.
