Sree Chithra Art Gallery is one of the oldest galleries in the state. Opened by the Maharaja of Travancore, Sree Chithira Thirunam, this gallery boasts a rich collection dotting the various genre of paintings in India, several of which were donated gifts to the gallery by the Royal House of Travancore and the Kilimanoor Royal Family.

Visit Ponmudi

One of the best ways to spend your time in Kovalam is to go for a weekend drive to the hill station of Ponmudi. This hill station is just 55 km from Thiruvananthapuram. The way to Ponmudi will take you past the vast river of Kallar, with the Meenmutty Waterfalls at a distance.
